Are you marketing your business the proper way? People don’t want to be “pitched” or spammed, you need to understand why people come on to social networking sites (like Facebook & Twitter)! Marketing your business should never mean you need to spam people on a daily basis. If they are interested, they will want to find out more from you because they trust you and have built a relationship up with you.
So, what the heck is Social Media and how can it benefit my business? Social Media is a way to connect with others in a way that you build trust and relationship FIRST, and in return will drive traffic to you and your site or blog.
Social Media is a HUGE part of almost everyone’s life (who doesn’t know about Facebook these days?), and if you’re building a business, it’s smart to go where the people are, but you have to build trust and develop a following with those that are interested in other information besides your business that you can share FIRST. The goal is to interact, build relationships and then drive traffic to your main site (blog).
To use these sites effectively, here are THREE steps to marketing and building your business successfully!
LEAD GENERATION – when using social media sites (facebook), you are being social, developing relationships, posting GOOD quality content (not pertaining to your business), and generating traffic back to your site. Once they’ve requested information or “opted in”, that is what we call lead generation.
LIST BUILDING – “The money is in the list” This is when you collect a data base of information from those that have agreed for you to send them information about what you do~ name, phone number, etc. *This helps you build your list and in return be able to communicate with others.
COMMUNICATION – This is where you can communicate to those you’ve built up trust with, more about your business. At this point, you’ve gotten quality leads who have gave you their permission to market to them.
There’s no need for fancy pitches, people will come to you on their own and will sign up to find out more about what you do on their own time!
If you do this effectively, you have attracted others on their own time to come to you and want to know more about your business and what you have for them that THEY want.
