5 Powerful Leadership Skills You Need For Success!
There are certain qualities that each leader has that is needed to be successful. When I first started my business, I was in the beginning stages of becoming a leader. I had already learned a lot of leadership skills from my prior work experience, however I was never in a position to ever lead a team or group of people to be successful, and I had to learn how to be respected by others to where they see you as a leader and want to follow you. Leadership is not something you are born with, it’s something that is learned and developed over time, so don’t ever think it’s not a skill you can’t have and that you can’t be successful too.
Here are my top 5 leadership skills you need for success! Do you have them?
1. High Work Ethics – leaders set strong business hours, hold their selves accountable for reaching specific goals, and possess a positive “no matter what” attitude, letting nothing stand in their way of what they want to achieve.
2. Leaders Follow Other Leaders – You will never hear a leader say they know everything and don’t need to learn anything new to grow their business or themselves personally. Following other leaders help you to grow.
3. Lead by example – If you want to lead in a powerful way, you need to show it can be done. Leaders are not afraid to get their hands dirty and lead the way for success!
4. Leaders Are Passionate – Passion is what drives any leader to success! You have to be passionate enough about what you do to be a good leader and inspire others.
5. Leaders are good communicators – Communication is an important factor to being a good leader. If you aren’t communicating with your business partners in the right way, you might come off as bossy, harsh, or un-caring. If you are a good listener, you can communicate precise goals one needs to achieve, provide constructive criticism, praise others and celebrate success with others, and are a good communicator.

I really liked the communication aspect. It is pretty important in almost every field that an effective level of communication exist as to make things work.

Amberly thanks for a great post. All the tips are helpful, but No 2 resonated the most with me. I have heard and learnt from successful people that they do surround themselves with other leaders. The other thing that almost all leaders do, that I know, is they have a coach or mentor who encourages them to step up and be more, be accountable and be greater than they know.

Amberly, great post! I think that learning and communication are two of the most vital leadership skills. I’d add emotional intelligence as part of communication. I think the books you recommend are great choices. I’d also add “How to Win Friends & Influence People” by Dale Carnegie and “The Greatest Networker” by John Milton Fogg.

John Maxwell has been a big influence in the leadership field. One quality true leaders have is they work on Purpose. They know their purpose and their actions are tied to their purpose.
Leadership is also about taking responsibility and as you said in one holding themselves accountable

This is a good list of success qualities. I think I am living by all of them although I think for the last one. I think I am a better listener than a talker so it’s a little harder for me to talk about my business. But I’m working on it.
